$30,000 Lemelson-Illinois Student Prize
The $30,000 Lemelson-Illinois Student Prize, administered by the Technology Entrepreneur Center in the College of Engineering, is awarded on an annual basis to the most innovative students passionate about solving grand challenges and striving to be entrepreneurial.
Discarded to Precious (D2P)
Hosted by the Technology Entrepreneur Center and the School of Art + Design, Discarded to Precious is a competition that requires Art + Design students to explore a discarded material and to transform it beyond the confines of its current use (turning it into “something precious”). The main focus of this challenge is the exploration of the relationship we have with discarded materials, either manufactured or natural.
Entrepreneurial LLC Roundtable
The Technology Entrepreneur Center at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign proudly announces the second annual Entrepreneurial Living-Learning Community Roundtable. The staff of many entrepreneurially-based living-learning communities are gathering in one spot for a shared discussion and networking opportunities. Staff from campuses that are considering starting entrepreneurial living-learning communities are also welcome and encouraged to join us!

Invention to Venture (I2V)
I2V teaches technology entrepreneurship basics, helps build networks and provides a framework for moving ideas forward. Each year, several specialized workshops will be offered. Invention to Venture is a program of the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance.
Midwest Engineering Entrepreneurship Network
The Technology Entrepreneur Center at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor announce the second annual Midwest Engineering Entrepreneurship Network (M.E.E.N.) Staff from many entrepreneurship centers based in the college of engineering in the Midwest region are meeting for a shared discussion and networking opportunities.
Patent Clinic
The Patent Clinic is a joint effort between the TEC and the University of Illinois College of Law (COL) in which selected participants from the Cozad New Venture Competition and theLemelson-MIT Illinois Student Prize entrants can have a patent application drafted for them at no cost, if their invention description includes a novel and potentially patentable device, system, or method.
SocialFuse

TEC's Charm School
The TEC offers Charm School every Fall. Each Charm School is a full Saturday and covers various topics needed to be successful in the "real world." We cover networking, how to get a job, business communication and proper dress in the workplace. Charm school also covers etiquette at a business lunch or interview where you will learn the finer points of formal dining etiquette.
